Hoorah. Yay for 100!

I figured since I have yet to do a celebratory journal for pageviews (like they matter right! ): ) I wanted to make something for submitting 100 deviations.
I guess its a milestone of sorts, I have been on deviantART for a little under a year, and I've had my camera for something like 7 months.

So I spend more time mulling over my old pictures than making new ones. To be honest I really don't like some of the things I put out even just a few months ago. So my style has constantly been evolving, not just how I see the world, but how I think it should be.

For years I had a few cameras at my disposal to take pictures here and there, sporting events, family get togethers, vacations. Pictures for the sake of pictures, y'know?

But even as I took a lot of shots last summer with borrowed cameras, and even got my own decent camera last fall I'm just now feeling that I take this seriously.

Its become something of my identity, people associate photography when they think of me. I don't really consider myself that artistic. I've always had a passion for math and all things logic, which if that's not the most counter-intuitive juxtaposition ...

So I guess its a passion of mine, and I've grappled with the reasons why it has become so. I really started taking pictures because I love the world, and its beauty, and it really does continue to amaze me all the time. Its days where I really have to stop and say wow, you've outdone yourself, Earth.

Conveniently I'm at a point in my life where I make all the decisions immediately relevant to the path in life I am to take, forever. So as much as I'd love to take pictures for a living for the rest of my life, that will have to regress to a lofty fall-back plan for when I run away from my life and live somewhere exotic to take pictures to support me and my circus-wife. (what? we're a traveling family. think about it)

I've realized I take way too many pictures, and unfortunately for you, you probably only see 1/10 of them. So I'm going to pledge to spend free time I have to processing the better ones and uploading them. Before that though, I think I will spend a few weeks touching up older shots I uploaded before I began processing them heavily.


Also, I figure its time I talk about my titles, which I pledged to stop at number 100. These of course (with the exception of The Lush, and the batch Ultimate shots, and other concert shots) have all been lyrics from Bloc Party songs.
AND SHAME ON YOU FOR NOT NOTICING.
Every one of them. Sure, a handful of you recognized one or two of your favorite lines, BUT 100? shaaame. SHAAAMEE.

So I'm retiring my Bloc Party Lines. I didn't use them because I'm not creative, I just felt like they already spoke for how I feel and its the perfect homage.

So with that I'm going to change up my titles, re-submit a few of my oldies, scrap some of the jokes, and keep on keepin on.
And eventually try to act like a legit photographer (as I develop my style and talent and such). All I'm asking for is a little cred right?


I can't do this without mentioning some guys who have had a huge impact on me and have been with me from the beginning.
